Tyler Grey
Author/Actor/Speaker
Tyler Grey is former SOF Operator who is now a leading advocate for veterans’ mental health, specializing in PTSD and traumatic brain injury (TBI). He is the creator of the LTSD theory, a groundbreaking concept that explains chaos addiction and the neurological rewiring that occurs over time as a result—giving many veterans a new level of understanding of their own struggles. His military career came to an abrupt and life-altering halt when he was seriously wounded during a nighttime raid in Sadr City, Iraq. The injuries sustained led to a grueling recovery process, spanning multiple surgeries and nearly four years of rehabilitation.
After being medically retired from the military, Tyler faced an even greater challenge—the transition to civilian life. Struggling with the loss of identity and purpose that had defined him for years, he hit rock bottom before making the decision to rebuild himself. Determined to find a new mission, he turned to storytelling, using his personal experiences to challenge conventional approaches to PTSD and veteran mental health. His acclaimed documentary, That Which I Love Destroys Me, won a 2015 Voice Award for its outstanding contribution to mental health awareness and became a key resource for mental health professionals at Walter Reed and Bethesda hospitals.
In 2017, Tyler transitioned into the entertainment industry starting as a military technical advisor on movies and on the CBS/Paramount+ series SEAL Team. Over the course of seven seasons, he has been instrumental in shaping the show’s authenticity, serving as a produc… Read More
