Josh Martin Profile Photo

SOF Veteran / Consultant / Active Duty Spouse / Father

Josh Martin is a dynamic leader, seasoned strategist, and veteran with a passion for solving complex problems and building high-performing teams. After graduating from West Point with a degree in Systems Engineering, he commissioned as an Aviation Officer in the U.S. Army. Josh earned his initial rating as a helicopter pilot in the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior and served as a reconnaissance pilot in the 101st Airborne Division. As someone who was always looking for the next challenge, Josh favorably assessed to become a Special Operations Aviation Officer in the elite 160th SOAR while still a lieutenant. Upon completion of Green Platoon and qualification to fly the MH-47G Chinook, he led a wide range of missions around the globe, often in high-risk, complex environments. He continued to progress through the organization, holding multiple leadership positions and earned Air Mission Commander (AMC) and Fully Mission Qualified (FMQ) designations.

He later earned his MBA from Vanderbilt University, where he was recognized for his leadership and service, before joining McKinsey & Company. As a strategy and management consultant, Josh has driven operations transformation efforts and advised clients across a range of other business optimization topics at Fortune 500 clients.

Josh’s journey is as resilient as it is accomplished. In 2018, a motorcycle accident caused a life-altering injury, eventually leading to a below-knee amputation after years of surgeries and rehabilitation. Refusing to let this setback define him, Josh embraced the challenge. He has competed as an adaptive athlete at an international level, earning seven individual medals and a team medal at the 2025 Invictus Games in Vancouver. He previously competed in the DoD Warrior Games, ran the Army 10-Miler, and regularly competes in major 3Gun matches across the country (when he can find more of the rarest resource, time). His story of resilience and grit reflects his lifelong love for physical challenge—rooted in a childhood spent outdoors in New Mexico and training as a multi-sport athlete from age 5 through college.

Beyond his professional and athletic pursuits, Josh is a devoted father to a spirited three-year-old son and a joyful baby girl, and a proud husband to his wife, who continues to serve on active duty in the U.S. Army. Together, they navigate the balance of military life, careers, and parenthood with mutual support and shared purpose. His commitment to family and community is matched only by his drive to lead and serve others.

In his downtime, Josh enjoys training for the next challenge, spending time with family, and playing guitar (poorly). He’s also a hands-on problem solver who can often be found tinkering in the garage. Whether in the boardroom, in the helicopter, or on the competition field, he brings passion, adaptability, and an unshakable mindset to everything he does.
